In the late 1980's, God allowed me to become the founder and president of an international consulting and training firm, specializing in racial and cultural diversity. I was blessed to have such clients as NASA, The Pillsbury Company, Deluxe Check Company, both Pepsi Cola and Coca Cola, and Wells Fargo and The Christian College Coalition to name a few. For more than 35 years, I was blessed to train over 10,000 employees and church members. I was also called upon to assist suburban churches in becoming multi-cultural and wrote a book, teaching on this very thing.
In the early 1990's, I was invited to the White House to advise the then President Bill Clinton, on race relations in America. I assisted in developing a national program titled, America's Town Talks on Race. The purpose of the program was to have cities facilitate the uneasy conversation on race relations in America, believing that if we had the tough conversations, walls of racism would come down.
Why are we here again? How is it that 51 years later, after thousands marched non-violently on Washington for Blacks to have voter rights, after race riots, we find the need to march and protest again? How is it that the ugly head of racism has raised its ugly head within our cities - again? Why is all hell breaking loose? One answer is found in the word of God. John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy." It is the plan of the enemy, Satan, to kill, steal and destroy the people of God and the cities in which they live. But, praise God! That same verse continues and talks about God's plan. It reads, "I (Jesus) have come so that they may have life, life more abundantly! I decree and declare that we shall live and not die at the hands of the enemy. Satan, go home, go to hell!
Reader: I can't blame Satan for everything. Some of the mess we are in is because of the dark hearts of some who were sent to protect us, but have done us harm, and some who revel in causing trouble, wreaking havoc, rioting, and enjoying it. I'd like to hear from you. Do you believe this thing is going to get better or worse? Are we heading towards more protests and riots?
